Ok pub with friendly service.

Off the cuff visit... had a good laugh with some friendly locals

Friendly local pub with a good atmosphere and nice looking staff

I started working here as a helping hand to chris jags. A typical day at the ship is your manager never turns up, never informs you of any needs such as cash for the till, beer ordering, never delivered any training.. This soon followed with aggressive mannerism, complaining the till was never closed down correctly... with no training how can this be done correctly even chris could never get out of bed early enough to help open when we closed from the night before and didn't get to sleep until 6:30am after once closing at the ship then having to run down to jags as no stage would stick around long enough to work for him Jagos is also always short staffed, never showed his face on weekends... letting his staff work from 10:30am till 6:30am and having to be up at 10:30 to do it all again. He would shout at his staff at his staff for not working hard enough... when in all honesty they were working every god damn minute whilst he was signed off sick for two weeks with back pain he was actually sunning himself on a cruise... Letting his overworked staff take the stick from the brewery for not having him there. 5 Members of staff were promised 8 an hour which he informed us would get paid every two weeks... This never happened he only paid 3 of the members of staff because they kept messaging and turning up to the ship even though they had quit within6 weeks due to his behaviour and lack of appreciation and also due to the fact they had not been paid one penny since they started...Once they had been given their money all of which had been deducted at least 20% tax which is unnecessary as this was their only job they don't pay tax until they earned 11,500... All this money went straight in his back pocket. Chris Jagos is a selfish and nast man who's staff turn around is insane!Everytime you go into the ship and jags a different member of staff is behind the bar. Since taking over the ship Chris has been through 9 members of staff and constantly advertising for more staff because he treats everybody with little or no appreciation... Please be warned that unless you are wanting to be drained from chris he will stop at nothing to drain every little bit of life you have inside you whilst working for him. Please be warned this message is coming from a group of people altogether not just one!! Feel free to share this message wherever with whoever... The truth will always come out... Karma.

This is an old worldy pub that has recently been reopened after it had been run down and closed. There are big plans for its refurbishment to be done shortly. And I'm told they are going to have a real log fire burning on those cold winter days, so welcoming.! Although there is no food available at the moment, they plan to offer a good menu and value for money . We used to eat here a lot and the quality of the food was very good. This pub when it has had the work done will have something to offer for all age groups.Give it a try, the new staff are charming.
