What a great way to spend an hour or two. Very interesting and well presented. Lots to do too. There's an audio tour and some articles with written discriptions (not too many of these). You can shut yourself in a tiny cell and use the peep holes. You can choose which trial you hear about in the court room whilst trying on the hats wigs and robes. The coffee shop is very nice and staff are lovely. A family ticket is very reasonable at 20 for the year. They have lots of events for kids and it's a brilliant wet weather attraction.
Fascinating! Worth every penny - and paying once gets you in repeatedly for a year. You will, if you can, go back! Superbly knowledgeable volunteers, Who are happy to chat and make sure that you see and understand as much as possible.
An utterly absorbing and fascinating museum about the bad old days of criminal justice. The audio guide is excellent and media displays very well made. The highlight is undoubtedly the court room. Very impressed with this recently renovated museum.
Less to see than we anticipated, but worth a look to fill an hour.Cafe was very good, and would recommend it with it without a museum visit.
Visited Shire Hall with a young Italian student. She found the interactive tablet accessible with her limited English skills. Lots of opportunities for dressing up. Reading the newspaper reports and biographies brought the courthouse to life.
