Well preserved roman house, good example of tiled floors. The outline of the structure has been recreated to protect the floors and gives a good representation of what the building could have been like.
Great for school projects, a real piece of history you can walk around.
Well worth a visit strange to see historical places situated near new buildings. Very interesting to see
Made a wish at the well and it came true. Needs looking after more if only to stop the anti social behaviour that clearly goes on around it. But the site it self is very important and should be seen it really make dorchester a very important roman site that should be studied more. Would highlyrecommend this important site
The ONLY Roman Town House excavated and fully on display in the whole of the U.K.The display boards are great and the guide book worth buying from the nearby Dorset County Museum. There is a Guided Tour with numbered stops that you can dial up from your Mobile Phone and listen to on speaker while wandering around. Its very informative and well worth the fee. Wouldnt it be amazing if the Charles Street Bath Complex got the same treatment rather than being stuck under a car park!
