Our lodge was situated in a perfect position right on the lake. We had to cross a little bridge by foot to reach the lodge which added to the atmosphere and the kids loved it. Upon entering the lodge all seemed great, a little bit tired but initially clean and tidy. However, as we started unpacking we noticed some clumps of dust in the corners of some rooms and the tops of the wardrobes (where we usually store our empty bags) were caked. During breakfast when making toast we discovered half a burnt bagel left in the toaster. When using the shower for the first time we found the shower door had come off the rail and my partner had to fix it. The decking area was worn with a couple of areas that needed attention. There was a smell in the main bedroom which we could not get rid of - we think it was possibly mould as there were a few patches on the ceiling throughout the lodge. We had one meal during our stay at the onsite restaurant which was poor to say the least. The chips were barely warm and one of the kids had mash which was a shade of grey with a crust formed on top. I personally had the seafood basket which was brought out in a small wire basket with no lining which meant my food was essentially sitting directly on the table top! Even though the entertainment was on wind down due to the end of the season, the kids loved it. Unfortunately we didn't get to use all the facilities as we only stayed for 2 nights and had day trips already planned but there is definitely great potential there. Even given the issues we experienced we still enjoyed our stay overall and would consider returning.

Just love this place Ideal for us as we had a lovely place to relax in after our sightseeing in Dorset. Wonderful to have the deer come to us each day.

Park is in a good location, plenty of wildlife to see. But the accommodation could be a lot better for the money you pay. In all we had a relaxing week but maybe think again before booking another holiday there.

It is located within easy access to a lot of areas of interests. The area is clean and well looked after. The staff are friendly and helpful. The local amenities shop on site is a tad expensive. They started some free explorer sessions which are truly fantastic. However, I wish they had more variety to their 5:30 sessions as it would be the ideal time to relax after a busy day.I have not used the facilities, so I cannot comment on their value.

Was looking to book 2 lodges for a weekend Friday til Monday. Until you try to charge 40 per dog? Ummmm other places are charging 15-20. Good way to lose business. On to somewhere else to take my money then
